A branded card can extend your relationship beyond the next purchase.
Explore customized rewards and the economics needed to sustain them.
Airline partnerships show the scale of the opportunity.
| 2025 reported results | Partner payments | What the number means |
|---|---|---|
| American Airlines | $6.2B | Cash payments from co-branded credit card and other partners. |
| Delta Air Lines | $8.2B | American Express remuneration, up 11% over 2024. |
American also reported $49.6B in passenger revenue. Partner cash is substantial, but cash remuneration is neither ticket revenue nor standalone card-program profit. Airline-scale outcomes are not forecasts for a new business program.

Build rewards around your audience.
Name your points, set earning rules and define what rewards cost. A useful program gives customers a reason to use the card and return to your business.
Fictional rule preview. Real earning rules need exclusions, refunds, rounding, disclosure versions and approval.
A catalog with clear permissions.
Paynuity's materials describe 1,500+ rewards-company integrations. The current active inventory, contractual access and supported redemption or transfer paths still need verification.
Each offer needs an approved territory, conversion rate, minimum, fees, expiry, funding and refund policy. A redemption catalog and an external points-transfer network are different capabilities.
Does the program pay?
Test active cardholders, spend, contracted income and reward costs.
All inputs are illustrative. Contracted income is the brand's share, not gross interchange. Include costs only once. Fee waivers and the party retaining fee income matter.
Brand contribution = contracted income + retained fees − brand-funded rewards − variable costs − fixed costs.
A generous reward rate can exceed the brand's revenue share. Configure the funder and reward cost before promising a points benefit.
This is contribution before tax and any costs omitted from your inputs, including financing, credit losses, fraud, acquisition, reserves and servicing. Responsibility depends on contracts. Incremental retail sales margin is excluded.
What makes a card valuable?
Contracted income from spending beyond your store, stronger repeat purchasing, and useful rewards can add value. Profit depends on adoption, active usage, funding and cost allocation.
